Wendy Taddeucci created an absolutely beautiful journal. The title Self Care Sanctuary is exactly how this book made me feel. I felt like the pages drew me in and supported me as though I was in a sanctuary. I especially appreciated the affirmations on the first page. As a sole caregiver for my 97 yr old MIL having this journal to go to and write out my thoughts and feelings has been a true blessing. I also love all the extra bonus pages to use for any purpuse. Wendy offers thought-provoking questions that I hadn't considered before that led to discussions in my mind. For example, "Describe a time when you felt both relaxed and productive. What contributed to that balance?" left me pondering how I can achieve this more. It's so easy to get caught up in daily life and all the demands, responsibilities and obligations that it brings. Wendy provides the tools to take a breath, step back and look at the big picture and learn to live more of a balanced, mindful and peaceful life. Since I tend to write BIG, I appreciate that there is plenty of space for answers as well as blank pages in the back of the book for additional journaling. I also like that you can change up the order of the subjects and questions if you prefer. This journal is a great tool to begin the New Year with.

The writing prompts were great questions which quickly made me realize how difficult it can be to shift your mindset from others to yourself. I’ve always looked at things from the perspective of being helpful and putting myself last. It’s a hard habit to break after so long but I definitely know the importance of doing so now.
